Up in 3D

Saw this last night in three deee. second film in a row i watched with cool wayfarers. lol. the movie was funny and touching on the verge of sad. there were parts where i shed a few tears while my mates were balling their eyes out. It was a good movie, just didn't expect it to make us cry. When we got out we were all sorta down for some reason. i said to them, "shit, should have just gone and watched the hangover."

Ice Age 3

Friend of mine and I went to watch the above film in 3D yesterday. Yes we both felt childish for going to see the movie but then once we were in the theatre there were MUCH older people watching it so we felt better. We were given Ray Ban wayfarer-like 3D glasses to watch the movie. We sat in the second row, the only tickets I could get. The first row was not available to customers I think because being too close to the screen to watch 3D might induce dizziness / nausea. Well that's my theory. I wanted to keep the damn 3D glasses afterwards but then the staff required everyone to drop them in the bucket when we left, shucks. It was a fun movie, though I did like the first 2 more. It would have been better if we didn't sit in the second row and if there weren't 3 year olds crying and shouting next to and behind me.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Okay, I actually went to see this the second day it came out. I just couldn't be bothered putting my two cents in until now. I went with my dad (that's how desparate I was). He fell asleep 3 times during the movie and by the 3rd time I gave up and just left him to watch the movie in dreamland. I guess for those that never read the book, the plot's a bit hard to follow. I mean I read all 7 books and even I forgot some things and got a bit lost. There are places in the movie I thought was a bit of a drag. Ron and Harry look a bit off to me, like awkward and not as cute as before...but Hermoine (sp?) gets hotter as she gets older.
I'm waiting for the last one to come out. Perhaps another 2 years ?

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Yay, the DVD finally came out and I managed to get a copy this weekend. I saw this at the cinema a while back when it came out and really liked it. That said, as a loyal fan of the Shopaholic book series, I must say it's not as good as the book. They changed some stuff around and there's no way the movie's gonna be as detailed as the book. Anywho, still a fun chick flick to watch nonetheless, Isla Fisher is really cute as Rebecca Bloomwood.

Transformed

So I was among the first ones to watch the movie in Japan at the advance screening session (we even received certificates to prove that we were among the first ones in the world to watch it or something) and I was so impressed. I LOVED IT. I watched the first one like 7 times in the cinema and I think I'm gonna watch it at least another time. At least. The movie runs 160 mins long but not once did I feel like it was long. In fact, I didn't get enough. The coolest thing was of course the transformations of the robots. Also, me and my buddy were the only ones in the cinema laughing out loud in the cinema.... some of the new characters were pretty cool too. Notable mention: the twins and the pet Michela keeps towards the middle of the movie. However, I did not like the last couple lines of the movie... thought they were cheesy.

Night at the Museum 2

Saw this over the weekend. This was pretty funny. However, it's true. The sequel is not as good as the first one. Is that like always the case? Why is that?

OMG

While looking at the set below I was thinking to myself, " I would wear this if I were going to a ball or were a vampire". Then it hit me to talk about this. How could I forget to talk about this already? The official poster came out a few days ago for New Moon movie and Rob Pattz confirmed there's gonna be a 4th movie for the final book! I. CANNOT. WAIT. He wont' be in this movie as much as I'd like as it's mostly about Jacob and Bella (damn it). Yes, talking about the Twilight Saga has made me become a teenager again. But Edward is so perfect I can't help it... I'm waiting for my Edward to come along still.

And we did it!

Yes! We saw it today and we get why it was completely sold out. It was a good movie! I think it was even better than the first one. It was 2.5 hours long I think but it was pretty damn gripping. No one in the cinema made any noise (cos they were so engrossed in it), I even felt bad for the sound I made munching on my caramel popcorn. Ewan McGregor's character got me man, he got me good...overall, 2 thumbs up :)
p.s. For those playing at home- Yes, I did preorder the tix online

Darn online booking

I wish I could be doing another one of my awesome movie review but sorry to disappoint my loyal fans *snicker*, I have not had the privilege to watch the film. I had set out to watch this film a few hours back after a nice dinner with my buddy. Ususally when I go watch a movie I preorder the tickets online first. Hence, I suggested the night before to book tix online but since booking online means we'll cop a surcharge, my buddy suggested we buy the tix on the spot.
So at the end after stuffing ourselves and checking with different cinemas around town to see whether we could still get tickets, we gave up and went drinking. Yes. Who knew this film would be so popular?! *cue eye roll*
Our plan now is to go next tuesday (cheapo tix all day); during day time when productive memebers of the society are at work. Heck, I might even suggest booking online again.

Things that go nicely with caramel popcorn

One of my favourite pasttimes besides being a bum at home would be going to the movies. Over the long weekend I managed to catch 2- X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 17 Again. They were both really good! It's refreshing to see Zac Efron doing something that doesn't involve singing (he can act too- quite funny in the movie). Wolverine did not disappoint either. The plot was interesting to a person with no x-men comic book knowledge such as myself, Hugh Jackman was great in it and the special effects were pretty cool. Also, I had no idea Logan's so old.
Alright, I'm not a movie critic so that's all I know how to say. At least I didn't go down the "OMG they are soooooooo hottt" path and I totally could have, so gimme some credit...
